What an exciting month! I managed to sneak in some assistant production and publicity work for Sipat Lawin Ensemble’s Battalia Royale. Click the link for more information.

Thank you to an excellent cast, and even more thanks to our fans! From the fan buzz, Battalia Royale also got mentions in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Anime News Network, Reuters, The Daily What, and Twitchfilm, among many other news sites.

Face the Facts, Pass the RH Bill: Poor Women speak on RH

Part of the Face the Facts, Pass the RH Bill movement. This article linking to Mary Racelis’ “Poor women speak on RH; is anyone listening” got picked up by Pinoytumblr. Thank you Pinoy tumblr!

Also, keep facing the facts! Pass the RH bill, stay informed!

adobo Magazine article: "Behind the Lens" on John Chua

You can read my article on veteran ad photographer John Chua on Harvey Chua’s blog. It is also published in adobo Magazine’s May-June issue.

I participated in the RP612 twitter fiction movement to celebrate Philippine Independence day. Filipino tweeps contributed micro-fiction on twitter based on Filipino personalities and events. You can read the complete collection from other twitter users and myself here. My twitter username is miithinks.

It was the first time since forever since I last wrote fiction, let alone fiction that concise! It was really a fun, inspiring exercise in copy that made me fear my own mind.

The latest adobo Magazine is now available at local bookstores, and Basheer books in Singapore and Hong Kong. My articles on the Kidlat Awards 2011 and AdPhoto’s John K. Chua are published there.

Face the Facts, Pass the Reproductive Health Bill

What I hope to be a viral movement for the reproductive health bill.

“It’s not about us versus them, or your God, or your church.

It’s about the millions of people who don’t know how their body and sexuality works. For lack of the facts, we’re working with myths, fiction, heresay.

This is why we need The Reproductive Health Bill No. 5043. We need to be educated, we need to be informed.

Face the Facts. Pass RH BILL NO. 5043.”
